Oral history interview : Harlow F. Lenon, Reed College, class of 1935 / interviewed by June E. Anderson, 1949, on February 26, 2004.

Harlow F. Lenon entered Reed College with the understanding (based on his interview with Reed President Norman F. Coleman) that he would be allowed to enroll in some upper level courses as a freshman. His plans were to become a lawyer and not remain at Reed for the full four years and he left to practice law with his father. He fought in World War II, in Normandy, the Battle of the Bulge, and elsewhere in Germany. He received two Bronze Stars and one Silver Stars. Following World War II, he returned to Portland to practice law with his father. Subsequently, he became a judge for 16 years, retiring in 1981.
